Transforming a Favorite Corner in a New Home: From a "Minimalist Arched Door" Brief to a Perfectly Crafted Reality
The story of this project began when a customer building a new home reached out with a reference image in mind, wanting a cozy and minimalist living corner. They did not want a traditional rectangular entrance, but rather a wooden arched door showcasing natural wood tones to contrast with the white interior of the house.
Project Brief and Site Concerns
The customer's concern was that the site's opening dimensions did not match standard sizes, making it difficult to find a ready-made arched door that fit perfectly. They also required a matching arched door frame so that the contractor could immediately install it and build the supporting wall.
Custom-Made Woodwork Solution
Our team proposed a custom-made approach, handling the complete set:
- Design and Production to Actual Proportions: Manufactured the arched door and wooden frame based on exact site opening dimensions down to the millimeter, eliminating issues with doors being too loose or too tight.
- Wood Grain Selection and Custom Finishing: Selected wood with beautiful grain patterns and applied a warm, soft natural wood finish that was neither too dark nor too light.
- Easy Installation for On-Site Contractors: Produced both the door and the arched frame together, reducing workload and saving time so contractors could set the frame and finish the wall neatly and quickly.
Satisfying and Impressive Results
The rounded curves of the door helped soften the sharp angles in the home, completing a warm feel that matched the slat walls and other furniture perfectly, creating a highlighted home corner that delighted the customer.
