From the brief "Real wood on a tight budget" to the ultimate durability test "Submerged in floodwaters for 6 days" ... This rubber wood shelving unit proved it survived!
From the brief "Real wood on a tight budget" to the ultimate durability test
The story of this project began with the customer's requirement to decorate a corner of the room with solid wood shelving that looks classic, exudes a dark and cool vibe, yet remains within a cost-effective and accessible budget.
The perfect choice: Jointed rubber wood finished in light teak
To meet both the design and budget requirements, the team recommended Jointed Rubber Wood, meticulously processed with a Light Teak finish to transform the bright tone of the rubber wood into a sophisticated, dark, and premium look while beautifully showcasing the natural wood grain. We also handled the assembly and built-in corner installation for a complete, all-in-one service.
When beauty faces an unexpected test
After the work was delivered and in use for some time, a flood occurred, causing the customer's house to be submerged, and this wooden shelving unit was submerged in water for a full 6 days!
Amazing result: Surviving the crisis completely intact
When the water receded and the damage was inspected, this piece of furniture turned out to have survived the crisis completely intact:
- Wood did not swell: There was no swelling, cracking, or peeling whatsoever.
- Strong structure: Every part remained as strong and beautiful as the first day it was installed.
- Easy maintenance: The only thing that needed attention was wiping away water and mud stains around the metal drawer slides.
Guaranteeing quality woodwork, exceeding expectations
This is another source of pride and clear proof that choosing good materials, combined with our standard wood preparation and finishing processes, not only provides the beauty the customer dreamed of but also delivers unexpected durability to last a long time in your home.
